Obituary

Marla Dawn Sklar nee Siegel, 49, beloved daughter of Marvin and Sara Siegel; adoring mother of Samuel and Ava; loving sister of Marc J. Siegel (Meredith Mann); cherished friend and treasured cousin to many. A graduate of The University of Wisconsin (Madison), Marla began her career at The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, first as a trade reporter and subsequently in its corporate office. She later was employed in various capacities by clearing-houses. A remarkable woman who fought for her children’s education and development. Marla fought a courageous battle with cancer. She reached out to find the good in everyone and share the importance of gratitude in life. Chapel service, Thursday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Suburban Synagogue Beth El or the American Cancer Society.
