Marla Dawn Sklar nee Siegel, 49, beloved daughter of Marvin and Sara Siegel; adoring mother of Samuel and Ava; loving sister of Marc J. Siegel (Meredith Mann); cherished friend and treasured cousin to many. A graduate of The University of Wisconsin (Madison), Marla began her career at The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, first as a trade reporter and subsequently in its corporate office. She later was employed in various capacities by clearing-houses. A remarkable woman who fought for her children’s education and development. Marla fought a courageous battle with cancer. She reached out to find the good in everyone and share the importance of gratitude in life. Chapel service, Thursday 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
